Public Transport

  • A regular circular bus service operates from Keswick along the Borrowdale Valley to Seatoller.
  • There are bus and coach connections in Keswick.

Fishing:  Although the property borders the River Derwent the owners do not allow Fishing from their property.

  • Fly Fishing for Brown and Rainbow Trout is available at Watendlath Tarn (3 Miles away)
  • Course/Salmon and Trout Fishing is available in Derwentwater (½ mile away)

Canoeing:  You can canoe from our Garden down the River Derwent into Derwentwater and go as far as the sea. Boats and canoes available from


Golf:  Keswick Golf Club is about 8 Miles away.


Walking:  You will be stopping in arguably the most beautiful valley in England. You can walk from the door and choose walks/scrambles to suit all levels of fitness. Wainwrights favourite square mile lies a 1/2 of a mile to the West.

Climbing:  Troutdale Pinnacle Black Crag and Shepherds Crag are within walking distance of the property.


Para/Hang Gliding:  Various clubs operate in the area.


Restaurants:  Keswick has large variety of restaurants and takeaways. Within walking distance of the property there 4 Hotels with excellent restaurants.
